There are moments throughout our lives that leave an imprint on who we are. They alter the path that we are on, in that moment, you know you will forever be changed. Your life will never be the same.
If I was to ask you to think back on those defining moments, certainly we could all say we have regrets along the way. We are human and, of course, we are going to make mistakes. I also know that there will be times that, although maybe not in that moment, we are grateful for how things happened and where we ended up. We can call them “unanswered prayers” if you will.
I strongly believe that everything in our lives happens for a reason. The bumps and curves that follow us on this road called life were there as a reminder that nothing comes easy. Andrew Carnegie once said, “Anything in life worth having is worth working for.” Sometimes you have to take risks and go with your gut instincts. Follow your heart and don’t stop until you make all your dreams a reality.
I started out writing when I was in my early pre-teens, I want to say around 12 years old. At that age, it started with me writing down my thoughts, feelings and experiences at a time that is really confusing for a young girl. I remember hiding my journal under the bottom drawer of my dresser and the days that I would pull it out were often the days that I will always remember.
This past year I found myself turning to that comfort I found in writing again. It came at a point where I was struggling to accept things that were happening in my life. Once again, writing became a way for me to understand and reconcile my thoughts and feelings while reading helped me escape reality for a little while.
I started writing my debut novel, Where I Found You, this spring. Ellie and Liam’s story is one that comes with a lot of tragedy and heart break. I relate to both of them in different ways and have enjoyed the process in writing their story. It is because of them that I have decided to expand it to a three book series called “Compass of the Heart.” The series will be released over the course of the next two years.
I am excited to share that news with you!
Ellie & Liam’s story
Brea & Mason’s story
Kinsley & Wes’ story
I look forward to sharing their stories with you! ❤
